Top Ugandan Banking and Finance Lawyer Joins ENSafrica
ENSafrica is pleased to announce that top banking and finance lawyer Rachel Musoke will be joining ENSafrica in Kampala, Uganda.
This follows on the footsteps of Phillip Karugaba’s decision to join ENSafrica, Africa’s largest law firm, which has over 600 practitioners on the continent. Karugaba, who joined the firm in mid-December, is widely recognised, having received tier 1 ratings from top rankings agencies. “Rachel’s decision to join ENSafrica truly delights me as she brings unique banking and finance experience and expertise to our team,” said Phillip.
Rachel is recognised as a leading lawyer by IFLR1000 and Chambers, which said in its most recent Global Guide that Rachel “… exercises great judgement, is careful, has a great eye for detail and is just very calm and professional. She is the sort of lawyer you really want.”
Rachel will lead the banking and finance team in Uganda, and also brings to the team expertise in real estate/property, construction, tax and employment law. “I believe that this is a timeous move given market conditions, and I look forward to scaling new heights with Phillip and the new team when I take up my position at ENSafrica Uganda in a few weeks’ time,” said Rachel.
Otsile Matlou, ENSafrica’s COO in charge of practice integration, commented that: “It is very important to us to provide clients with the kind of advice that they need to do high-level complex transactions on the African continent. We are only able to do so because we have been able to attract experienced and talented practitioners such as Rachel and Phillip and we look forward to welcoming Rachel to the ENSafrica team.”
“The news of both Phillip’s and Rachel’s move to ENSafrica marks a significant shift in the Ugandan legal market and shows ENSafrica’s commitment to not only Uganda, but to building a presence across East Africa to ensure clients receive excellence in service and offering in the region,” added Mzi Mgudlwa, Chief Executive of ENSafrica.
