Morgan & Morgan Hosts Conference on Women Diversity
On occasion of the International Women’s Day, in Panama City was held a forum on “Women leadership for business competitiveness”, with the participation of Maria Perdomo and Andrea de la Piedra, co-founders of Aequales and creators of The Gender Equality Ranking which is implemented across different organizations.
Both experts talked at length about the labor situation of women in Latin America, the internal and external barriers that challenges women to reach leadership positions, the benefits of diversity, and actions companies can implement in their processes and policies.
The event, celebrated by WIP Panama, was held on March 14 at Morgan & Morgan, and organized by a group of law firms: Alemán, Cordero, Galindo & Lee; Alfaro, Ferrer & Ramírez; Anzola, Robles & Asociados; Arias, Fábrega & Fábrega; Dentos Muñoz; Fábrega, Molino & Mulino; Galindo, Arias & López; and Morgan & Morgan.
WIP Panama is the Panamanian chapter of the Women in the Profession Program (WIP) of the Vance Center, pro bono organization of the New York City Bar Association, created for the purpose of increasing the participation of women lawyers in the Americas. Its objectives are to promote leadership and to establish cooperation and communication among women lawyers in Panama, and identify the main concerns relating to professional and development opportunities through joint programs and activities.
