Michigan Governor Rick Snyder Reappoints Dykema’s Jason Hanselman to the Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission

Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced that Jason T. Hanselman, Lansing-based member in the Firm’s Government Policy and Practice group, has been reappointed by Governor Rick Snyder to Michigan’s Unarmed Combat Commission on a term that expires June 5, 2021.

Housed within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, the 11-member commission oversees professional boxing and mixed martial arts events. The appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the State of Michigan Senate.

Ingham County Bar Foundation’s (ICBF) Board of Directors for a three-year term. The ICBF is the Ingham County Bar’s philanthropic entity and has a close relationship with the Ingham County Bar Association (ICBA) and other local bar organizations. Hanselman has been an ICBA member for more than 16 years and has served on its executive leadership team for several years, including recent stints as President, Vice President, and Secretary.

In his practice, Hanselman advises clients in highly-regulated fields, such as energy, elections, health care, and public education. He regularly represents those clients in complex business matters, litigation before state and federal courts, and regulatory proceedings before administrative boards and commissions.

Hanselman received a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami and a B.A. from Michigan State University.
