Haynes and Boone Claims Multiple Honors at 2018 Americas IP Awards
Managing IP, which covers intellectual property news and developments worldwide, selected Haynes and Boone, LLP for several top honors at its 2018 Americas IP Awards, held March 15 in New York City.
Partner Phillip Philbin was named the Outstanding Litigator in Texas. Philbin was part of the litigation team that won a jury verdict in 2017 for ZeniMax Media Inc. and idSoftware in their high-profile battle to be compensated for the theft of cutting-edge technology used in virtual reality headsets. The federal jury verdict was named the nation's largest verdict in 2017 by VerdictSearch, a unit of ALM Media LLC.
Haynes and Boone Partner David McCombs was among the finalists for the outstanding Texas litigator award, as were lawyers from four other firms.
"I am honored to have received this recognition, particularly given the caliber of the lawyers named as finalists," said Philbin, who has tried numerous patent cases to juries and judges across the country. "This award speaks to the overall strength of the firm's IP Litigation Practice, which has a long track record of delivering excellent service and results for clients."
