Dykema Appoints Robert Nelson as Co-Practice Group Leader for Taxation

Dykema, a leading national law firm, announced today that Robert Nelson has been appointed to serve the firm as Co-Practice Group Leader for its Taxation group, which is focused on counselling clients in all aspects of federal, state, and local tax laws. Nelson will co-lead with Michael Cumming, who is based in the firm’s Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, office.

Based in the firm’s San Antonio office, Nelson is an experienced Certified Public Accountant and advises clients on business tax planning, partnership tax planning, estate planning, international tax planning, and federal and state tax controversy. His clients include privately held family businesses, Mexican-owned U.S. businesses, large corporations, and individuals. Nelson is board certified in Tax Law, Estate Planning, and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Nelson earned a J.D. from University of Houston Law Center. He received a B.A. and B.S., magna cum laude, as well as a Master of Accountancy (MAcc) from Brigham Young University.
