Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek adds insurance law expert Jürgen Wolters
Effective May 1, 2018, insurance expert Dr. Jürgen Wolters (52) will join Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek at its Cologne office. The long-time former partner at Bach Langheid Dallmayr (BLD) had been a member of the Board of Management since January 2016 and Chairman of the Board of property and casualty insurance firm Die Haftpflichtkasse VVaG since 2017.
With his proven expertise in insurance and liability law, the Cologne native is a perfect fit for Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek’s Cologne-based insurance team. The addition of Wolters sees the law firm systematically expanding its market position in insurance and liability law.
Wolters' experience in management positions of an insurance company with topics such as the implementation of Solvency II, the IDD guideline, the General Data Protection Regulation, as well as compliance and risk management systems, are an interesting addition to the expertise of the Cologne office and complementing Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek’s insurance law practice in supervisory and insurance company law.
Prior to starting work in the insurance industry, Wolters had been with Bach Langheid Dallmayr (BLD) for almost 20 years, working as a partner since 2003, focusing on insurance contract law, general liability, medical liability, property damage liability, and D&O/special lines. He is also Chairman of the Board of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Vermögensschadenhaftpflicht – DGVH e.V., which is committed to the sector’s professional strengthening. “In the insurance industry, it is more important than ever not to think in traditional fields of law, but in corporate and market-related solutions, and this is what Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek stands for in particular,” Wolters described his reasons for joining Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek.
His Cologne peers agree: “In Wolters, we have gained an excellent, well-connected lawyer with a wealth of practical experience for our insurance law practice, who fits in perfectly with our focus on liability law and who is a valuable reinforcement of our expertise in advising insurance companies,” said Rüdiger Schnug, a long-standing partner in Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek's Insurance Practice Group.
