Wil R. Schroder Honored as Outstanding Young Alumnus of Chase College of Law
Dinsmore & Shohl LLP’s Wil R. Schroder received the “Outstanding Young Alumnus Award” from Northern Kentucky University’s Chase College of Law. He was honored at an alumni dinner on Feb. 9.
Schroder graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in secondary education: English. He then attended Chase College of Law, earning his J.D. in May 2008. While attending Chase, Schroder served as the president of the Student Bar Association and was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity.
Schroder began working for Dinsmore & Shohl in its public finance department in April 2015. In addition to practicing law, Schroder serves as a Kentucky state senator for the 24th District, which includes Campbell, Pendleton and Bracken Counties. He is chair of the Budget Review Subcommittee on Justice and Judiciary and is also the vice chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee; the Senate Economic Development, Tourism, & Labor Committee; the Senate State and Local Government Committee; the Senate Veterans, Military Affairs and Public Protection Committee; and the Program Review and Investigations Committee. He also serves as chair of the Northern Kentucky Caucus.
Prior to winning the Kentucky Senate seat, Schroder was an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney for Campbell County where he prosecuted felony cases, served as the lead attorney in a number of trials and was appointed Special Assistant Attorney General on a case. He also served as an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney for Boone County.
