Dinsmore Adds IP attorneys to Chicago Office

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP continues to grow its Chicago office, welcoming Miyoung Shin and Stephanie Crigler as attorneys in the Intellectual Property department.
Shin is a partner and experienced patent attorney who holds a degree in electrical engineering and has extensive knowledge on a wide range of technical fields. Her practice includes all areas of patent law, with a particular focus on complex issues such as post-grant proceedings, patent protection and enforcement.
“Miyoung is highly regarded in the area of post-grant proceedings and a great addition to our group,” said Joshua A. Lorentz, Dinsmore Intellectual Property department chair. “Her background as a registered Korean patent attorney has allowed her to work with a worldwide network of associates and gives our growing practice even more diverse expertise.”
Crigler is an associate who specializes in trademark and copyright law, with a focus on trademark clearance, enforcement, and portfolio management, as well as copyright licensing and registration. She has worked on proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) and finished second in the nation at the INTA’s Saul Lefkowitz National Finals as a member of Chicago-Kent’s Intellectual Property Moot Court team.
Dinsmore’s IP Department includes more than 100 attorneys, ranking the firm in the nation’s top 50 based on number of patent attorneys, according to IP Today.
Shin earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. She received her B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Korea University. She frequently speaks and writes on Intellectual Property issues.
Crigler earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude. She received her B.A. from Georgetown University. While in law school, Crigler served as an executive articles editor of the Chicago-Kent Law Review.
