Dinsmore’s Calvin Buford Among Cincinnati Leaders Recognized for Professional Achievement
Dinsmore & Shohl LLP’s Calvin Buford was one of four Men of Honor, a Salute to African American Men honorees recognized during an event Saturday at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati. Selected for his achievement in the practice of law, Buford joined honorees from the medical, humanitarian, business and entrepreneurship sectors.
Men of Honor, a Salute to African American Men celebrates “the accomplishments of extraordinary African American men who have succeeded against all odds and achieved special greatness.” As part of the recognition, honorees each received a $3,000 grant to designate to an organization of their choosing that benefits African-American men.
A partner in Dinsmore’s Corporate Department, Buford focuses his practice on general corporate and transactional matters, including mergers, acquisitions and dispositions of publicly and privately held businesses. He is peer review rated AV in Martindale-Hubbell and listed in The Best Lawyers in America® for corporate law. Additionally, Buford is a member of the firm’s associate evaluation and diversity committees and has served the boards of numerous Cincinnati organizations, including the Cincinnati Art Museum, Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation, Greater Cincinnati Foundation, and The Urban League of Greater Cincinnati.
Buford received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, M.P.P. from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and B.A. from Northwestern University.
