Dinsmore Meets with Leaders from Tunisia as Part of Anti-Corruption Program

October, 2017 - United States of America

Dinsmore & Shohl’s Harvey Cohen met with a delegation of 10 U.S. Department of State exchange high-level visitors from Tunisia on Thursday for a discussion about corporate ethics and anti-corruption. The meeting with the delegation, which included Tunisian government leaders, legal advisors and anti-corruption advocates, was part of an outreach effort through the Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program. Cohen led the entire meeting in French.

The program’s objectives are to allow international visitors to examine and understand ethics in the U.S. , as well as corporate best practices relating to transparency and accountability. Participants are able to compare U.S. practices and conduct to public and private sector entities worldwide, considering the effect on trade, investment and economic development.

“It was our pleasure to host the delegation  at Dinsmore to discuss U.S. anti-corruption and ethics in depth,” said Cohen, chair of the firm’s international business practice group and a corporate partner who routinely advises clients on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and related international matters. “To have such a distinguished group spend time in our city as part of a Department of State program and to participate in these important discussions is quite an honor.”

Dinsmore was part of a select group chosen to meet with delegation members during their time in Cincinnati. The delegation was also scheduled to meet with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio, WCPO-TV, City of Cincinnati Law Department, DHL Express, Northern Kentucky University, GE Aviation, Citizens Complaint Authority and the Urban Morgan Institute.
