Jeff Dorrill Wins Age Group in Dallas Half Marathon
Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Jeff Dorrill posted his latest in a string of victories in endurance competitions, finishing first in in his age category (55-59) in the 2018 Rock 'n' Roll Dallas Half Marathon.
Dorrill battled difficult conditions, including 93 percent humidity and a hilly course, to finish the 13.1 mile race in 1:31:21, a second ahead of the second-place finisher.
A partner in Haynes and Boone's Tax Practice, Dorrill won the national championship in his age category (55-59) at the USA Triathlon Ultra-Distance National Championships (an Ironman distance race) in Oklahoma City in 2017.
He also won first place last year in his age category at the World Championship Qualifier for the Draft Legal Sprint Duathlon at the U.S. National Duathlon Championships in Bend, Oregon. The competition consisted of a 5K run, followed by a 20K bike, and then another 2.5K run. Competing against the best duathletes in the country, Dorrill won his age category by six seconds, in a race that lasted over one hour and eight minutes.
The duathlon victory qualified Dorrill to compete for Team USA in the 2018 World Duathlon Championships in Odense, Denmark, in July.
Dorrill focuses his practice on structuring and negotiating partnership, limited liability company and shareholder agreements (including those for real estate investments, technology and energy businesses), federal income tax planning (including partnership and corporate taxation, real estate and energy tax incentives, REMICs, and tax issues relating to debt instruments) and controversies, as well as property tax controversies and negotiating local tax and finance incentives for development projects. He also assists clients with state and local tax planning.
