More than 50 Haynes and Boone, LLP lawyers and 18 practice areas have been recognized in the 2018 Chambers USA legal directory published by Chambers & Partners.

The directory recognized the Appellate Group on its new "Spotlight Table" for its depth of practice and breadth of experience. Chambers also designated two of the firm's practice areas as "recognized practices" with nationwide scope: Banking & Finance and Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation. And Technology: Outsourcing moved to a higher banding in Texas.

A total of 53 Haynes and Boone lawyers, in offices across the country, were recognized by Chambers USA - three more than in 2017. Highlights included: Restructuring Group Partners Eli Columbus received a banding for the first time and J. Frasher Murphy advanced to a banding from "Up and Coming."

Others elevated to higher bandings in 2018 were: Partners Ian Peck, Stacy Brainin, Kenya Woodruff and Micah Skidmore. Brainin also was named a "recognized practitioner" for White-collar Crime & Government Investigations Litigation.

"I am proud that the firm has maintained such a prominent presence in the Chambers USA directory, which underscores the extent to which our lawyers are recognized by peers and clients as leaders in their respective practice areas," said Managing Partner Tim Powers.

The 2018 Chambers USA rankings also designated three other Haynes and Boone lawyers as "recognized practitioners" for the first time: Kent Rutter in Appellate, Thad Behrens for Securities Litigation and Ron Breaux White-collar Crime & Government Investigations. (Breaux also is banded for Antitrust.)

Two lawyers who joined the firm in 2017 are ranked by Chambers: Insurance Recovery Partner Barry Buchman in the Washington, D.C. office, and Counsel Mike Hatchell, an appellate litigator in the Austin office.
