Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advises HypoVereinsbank on re-awarding facility management contract

Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised HypoVereinsbank on the invitation to bid on and the re-awarding of the facility management for some 500 German properties used by banks, including data centers. Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek’s comprehensive legal advice ranged from drawing up the specifications to drafting and negotiating the new contract. The advisory team for HypoVereinsbank was jointly led by Dr. Carsten Schrader, Partner in Munich, and Dr. Thomas Nickel, Partner in Frankfurt.

The new contractor is STRABAG Property and Facility Services (PFS), which is assuming all technical, infrastructural, and commercial facility management services. STRABAG PFS had already performed the facility management tasks from 2009 to 2014.

Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek had advised HypoVereinsbank both on the original outsourcing of facility management services in 2008 and on the first re-award of the contract in 2013. HypoVereinsbank is part of UniCredit group, one of Europe’s largest banking groups. Employing about 13,000 people, HypoVereinsbank is one of Germany’s largest financial institutions.
