August, 2018 - Detroit, Michigan

Robert P. Tiplady and Marie R. Deveney, Ann Arbor-based members of the Dykema’s Estate Planning & Administration practice, were recognized in the 2018 edition of Chambers High Net Worth Guide (Chambers HNW) in the area Private Wealth Law in the State of Michigan. This marks Tiplady’s third-consecutive inclusion in the publication (which first launched in 2016) and Deveney’s first.

Chambers HNW covers private wealth management work and related specialisms in key jurisdictions around the world, featuring in-depth editorial about the leading lawyers and law firms for wealthy individuals and families.

According to Chambers HNW, Dykema has a:

“very good reputation” for its estate planning practice in Michigan. The firm’s lawyers assist clients with a full range of estate planning matters, including advising on estate, gift and generation-skipping tax planning, the creation of foundations and other charitable giving issues. They also handle the preparation of wills, revocable living trusts and powers of attorney. The firm also has litigation capabilities, frequently representing clients in contested probate matters.”

The guide proceeds to describe both Tiplady and Deveney:

Marie Deveney advises clients on the administration of trusts and probates, the preparation of wills and trust agreements and tax planning. She also assists with retirement planning. “She is an excellent, not only estate planner, but a thought leader in the high net worth field. She’s active in the state Bar, presenting on new topics and areas of law,” comments a peer, adding: “I was very impressed with her manner and expertise.”

Robert Tiplady advises clients on estate planning, business succession and wealth preservation matters. His clients include executives, business owners, wealthy families and family offices. “I would recommend him as someone who drafts very good trust agreements. I think very highly of him,” says a peer, who also highlights his work on the drafting of legislation, commenting that “he understands problems in that instinctively.” Tiplady is also noted for his work with the state Bar.
