Dinsmore’s Charleston Office Rolls up Their Sleeves to Benefit Local Charity
Dinsmore & Shohl LLP’s Charleston office will lace up their bowling shoes and face off in their annual Friends of Shohl Bowl. This year’s event will benefit Legal Aid of West Virginia.
The Charleston office is divided into two groups, with each team organizing a variety of activities, games, and events, all in an effort to outraise the opposing team. Some of this year’s activities included a 50/50 raffle, a hotdog sale, an art auction, and a chili cook-off. The winning team will receive a pizza party, ice cream and of course, bragging rights.
Charleston office managing partner Anna Dailey said, “Legal Aid is an outstanding organization and we are proud to be partnering with them at this year’s event. Over the years, we have worked with a variety of worthy organizations across West Virginia, and Legal Aid is a group that directly and positively impacts the lives of the most underserved and needy individuals and families in our great state.”
Legal Aid focuses on assisting low-income families, seniors, victims of domestic violence, and the disabled. Dailey continued, “As lawyers, we know the importance of providing our clients with the best legal advice possible. We also realize not everyone has access to quality legal services, and Legal Aid is an organization focused on and dedicated to providing this necessary legal assistance. We hope the money we raise during our event will help them continue their excellent work.”
Including this year’s event, the Shohl Bowl has raised more than $24,000, plus substantial donations of needed supplies. The event started a decade ago as a football game and evolved to bowling in recent years to allow more people to participate.
This year’s Friends of Shohl Bowl takes place on Sunday, Dec. 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Galaxy Lanes on MacCorkle Avenue.
