Pellerano & Herrera has promoted three lawyers to partnership reinforcing its prominent position in the corporate and litigation sphere.

Pellerano & Herrera announced the promotion of three outstanding senior associates, Carolina León, Alessandra Di Carlo and Félix Fernández, to partners of the firm, invigorating its corporate and litigation practices. The promotion increases the firm’s partnership team to 8, of whom 5 are women.

The announcement was made on January 16th by Ricardo Pellerano, managing partner of Pellerano & Herrera, at the opening ceremony of the firm's annual strategic planning session.

"This new energy ensures multigenerational talent for the firm and partnership team, a strengthening of diversity at the highest level and a definite boost to female leadership in the Dominican Republic's legal industry," said Pellerano.

Carolina León will co-lead the Digital & Technology and Telecommunications, Media & Entertainment practices; Alessandra Di Carlo will co-lead the Banking, Insurance & Capital Markets and Fintech practices of the firm; and Félix Fernández becomes one of the three key partners in the litigation practice.

About the new partners

Carolina León
Carolina León joined the firm in 2006 and has over 15 years of experience in the areas of foreign investment, corporate law, regulatory law, structuring and negotiation of contracts, M&A, labor law, free zones, franchises and telecommunications. She has vast expertise in the acquisition and sales of companies and real estate. Carolina has been recognized by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 and IFLR.
She received her Law Degree, magna cum laude, from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) and has two Masters Degrees, one in International Business from the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and an LLM from Instituto de Empresa (IE) Business School in Madrid.

Alessandra Di Carlo
Alessandra Di Carlo joined the firm in 2007 and has over 12 years of experience in international M&As, project finance, banking, capital markets, entry of multinational companies to the Dominican market, as well as in the international funding of large value transactions. Alessandra has been recognized by Chambers& Partners and IFLR.
Alessandra received her Law Degree, cum laude, from the Pontificia Universidad Madre y Maestra in Santo Domingo and completed her Master’s Degree in Business Law and International Litigation, from the Rey Juan Carlos University of Spain and PUCMM.

Félix Fernández
Félix Fernández joined the firm’s litigation practice in 2017 as a senior associate. He is an outstanding litigator and business strategist with more than 17 years of experience in civil, commercial, labor, corporate, maritime, aeronautical, administrative, criminal, insurance, banking, international law, foreign investment, intellectual property, arbitration and litigation in general. Felix participated in the drafting of the Maritime Trade Law of the Dominican Republic
He received his Law Degree, magna cum laude, from the Pontificia Universidad Madre y Maestra in Santo Domingo in 2000.
