Haynes and Boone Earns 2018 DVAP Gold Star Award

October, 2018 - Dallas, Texas

The Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program (DVAP) has recognized Haynes and Boone, LLP with a Gold Star Award for Pro Bono Service for law firms with more than 150 lawyers. The firm was honored for the fourth consecutive year for its outstanding pro bono services in the Dallas community.

“Once, again this year, our lawyers have stepped up and given generously of their time and resources to many charitable causes,” said Haynes and Boone Partner Debbie McComas, co-chair of the firm’s Pro Bono and Public Service Committee. “Pro bono is a central part of the fabric of this law firm, and we are honored to again receive this recognition from the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program.”

Haynes and Boone received the 2018 Gold Star Award at the 36th Pro Bono Awards Reception on Sept. 25 at the Belo Mansion in Dallas. The event recognized judges, attorneys, law firms, court reporters and legal staff who have provided free legal aid to Dallas residents who could not otherwise afford it.

Haynes and Boone has a deeply rooted tradition of pro bono service in the Dallas community, including support for DVAP and its programs. DVAP is an organization dedicated to increasing and enhancing pro bono legal services to the poor in Dallas through the recruitment, training and support of volunteer attorneys. DVAP is a joint program of the Dallas Bar Association and Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas created in 1997 when the organizations merged their previously separate pro bono programs to create one cohesive effort to address the legal needs of the poor in Dallas.
