Carey was Highlighted in Different Fields

March, 2019 - Santiago, Chile

February was a month of good news for Carey. We were ranked by Chambers Global as the Chilean firm with most areas of practice ranked in Band 1.

Chambers Global covers more than 180 countries around the world and compares firms that have an expansive regional or global scope, identifying and classifying the most outstanding firms and lawyers.

Our partners Rafael Vergara and Marcos Ríos were featured in the "Thought Leaders: Global Elite 2019" edition of Who’s Who Legal.

This edition brings together the insight, expertise and wisdom of some of the world’s foremost lawyers and experts in their areas of practice, based on recommendations from clients and professionals.

In another field, among a pool of 369 winners worldwide, our partner Francisco Carey was the only partner in Chile highlighted in the Intellectual Property - Copyright category for our country in the 2019 Client Choice Awards, based on client assessments.

Since 2005, the Client Choice recognizes partners of law firms around the world that stand out for the excellent quality of the client service they provide.

Partner Lorena Pavic and associate José Pardo, were featured in the 2019 Competition guide, published by Who's Who Legal along with Global Competition Review.

This ranking selects the most outstanding lawyers in this area worldwide, based on comments from clients and antitrust lawyers.

Lorena Pavic stood out as one of the top lawyers in Competition in Chile, and José Pardo, appeared for the first time in the category that highlights the members of the next generation of leaders in the field (Future Leaders – Non Partners).

Finally, we were featured once again in the "Pro Bono Leading Lights" ranking, created by Latin Lawyer and the Cyrus R. Vance Center.

Leading Lights recognizes law firms that stand out for their pro bono work and for their efforts to build a lasting pro bono infrastructure, both internally and in the legal market. We have received this recognition annually since 2012.

We became founding members of the Pro Bono Foundation in 2000, and our partner, Gonzalo Fernández, belongs to its Advisory Board. Through the Foundation, we receive requests for voluntary legal support, which allows us to access a large number of institutions and individuals that require free legal advice.

“Pro bono work is an essential part of our legal practice. We believe that collaborating in cases of social relevance without cost, generates a positive impact on society, and as members of the Pro Bono Foundation, we seek to promote this type of action”, commented Gonzalo Fernández.
