Hanson Bridgett Announces their 2018 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Attorney Fellow and Pathfinder

San Francisco, California, March 1, 2018 – Hanson Bridgett is continuing their commitment to "building a more open and diverse legal profession," with the installment of their 2018 LCLD leaders: Fellow, Gilbert Tsai, and Pathfinder Kaylen Kadotani.

The LCLD Fellows program, which has trained more than 800 mid-career attorneys since 2011, is one of LCLD’s most important initiatives. The program provides training in leadership and relationship building to lawyers committed to fostering diversity in their firm and in the profession at large. Pathfinders targets high-potential diverse attorneys at the 3 – 7 year mark of their career and guides them in their career development, whether in-house or at a firm.

This year, Gilbert Tsai was nominated as the 2018 Hanson Bridgett Fellow. Gilbert is a partner in the Labor and Employment group, and is active in the firm's Diversity and Inclusion Network. He is also a board member for Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach, a Bay Area legal services nonprofit. He represents employers in a variety of employment-related litigation matters and advises them in all areas of labor and employment law. Hanson Bridgett's Pathfinder for 2018 is Kaylen Kadotani, a fifth-year associate who joined the firm in 2016. He is a member of the Firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution group, and focuses his practice on insurance recovery, commercial litigation, real estate and construction, and product liability.

For the past nine years, LCLD, with the backing of more than 275 in-house attorneys and law firm managing partners, has been dedicated to creating and growing a diverse U.S. legal profession through Action Programs. These programs are designed to "attract, inspire, and nurture the talent in society and the member organizations." This provides the springboard to leadership so desperately lacking for these talented and driven candidates. Laura Stein, Chair of LCLD and General Counsel at Clorox® describes the mission as "both vision and real-world action, working to produce a future legal profession that is as diverse as the country it serves."
