Hanson Bridgett Promotes Several Attorneys to Partnership, Senior Counsel

January 2, 2017 (SAN FRANCISCO, CA) – Hanson Bridgett is pleased to announce the promotion of seven attorneys to partnership: Connie Liu, Chris Jensen, Adam Hofmann, Julie Sherman, Gilbert Tsai, Samantha Wolff, and Raffi Zerounian. Additionally, the Management Committee has promoted Liza Bunker, Jillian Somers Donovan, Daniel Garcia and Geoffrey Pittman to Senior Counsel. The promotions became effective on January 1, 2017.

Connie Liu joined Hanson Bridgett in 2005 as Counsel in the Estate Planning Group. She advises clients with domestic and international estate and tax planning needs, and also works with multi-generational families on succession planning.

Chris Jensen joined Hanson Bridgett in 2015 as Counsel in the Real Estate and Construction Group. He focuses his practice on Environmental Law with an emphasis on toxics, air quality and water quality issues. Chris frequently represents clients in regulatory proceedings and regularly advises on state and federal environmental laws.

Adam Hofmann began his career at Hanson Bridgett in 2006 as an Associate, and rose to Senior Counsel in 2011. In addition to his role within the Litigation Group, he also handles writ or appellate matters for clients across nearly every section of the firm. Adam is also an adjunct professor teaching courses in local government and land use law at the University of San Francisco School of Law.

Julie Sherman began her career at Hanson Bridgett in the firm’s summer associate program in 2007, and was elevated to Senior Counsel in 2014. She focuses her practice on public sector worka, advising clients on government ethics, governance laws, legislation and civil rights law compliance. Additionally, Julie serves as the Chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee.

Gilbert Tsai came to Hanson Bridgett as a lateral in 2012, earning a promotion to Senior Counsel in 2014. He handles various employment-related litigation matters, often counseling employers regarding their personnel policies to ensure state and federal law compliance. Additionally, Gilbert is involved with both the Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach and the firm’s Diversity Inclusion Network Committee.

Samantha Wolff began her career at Hanson Bridgett in 2008 and became a Senior Counsel in 2014. She is well-versed in all phases of litigation in federal and state court, representing both public and private sector clients. Additionally, she assists policyholders in coverage disputes, specializing in dispute-resolution counseling and litigation.

Raffi Zerounian came to Hanson Bridgett in 2014 as Counsel in the Intellectual Property Group. His practice focuses on all aspects of intellectual property and commercial litigation, specializing in trademark and copyright litigation. Having pursued hundreds of trademark-enforcement disputes, stopping sales of counterfeit goods and handling various copyright matters, Raffi is a seasoned intellectual property attorney.
