Shepherd and Wedderburn Advises on Management Buyout of Cyber Security Firm Adarma

Shepherd and Wedderburn advised on the management buyout of Scottish cyber security specialist Adarma.

The Glasgow headquartered company, previously known as ECS Security, has an extensive client roster that includes market-leading brands and FTSE 250 organisations.

The private management buyout was led by Nathan Dornbrook and David Calder, with capital from mid-market private equity investor Livingbridge and debt from Bank of Scotland.

Adarma, which has more than 250 staff operating across offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Manchester and Pune (India), provides a broad range of IT security consulting, solution and services.

The company helps large enterprises establish operational security capabilities in-house, co-managed or in fully managed environments.

Adarma’s 20 largest clients have a combined annual turnover in excess of £150 billion and rely on its expertise to help protect sensitive data covering more than half of the UK population.

Andrew Blain, Managing Partner of Shepherd and Wedderburn, who advised the ECS management on the buyout, said: “This is a fantastic deal for a rapidly growing tech business with global ambitions and huge growth potential. We wish the new management team and staff every success going forward.”
