The Trump administration has selected Dinsmore partner Justin Walker for a federal judicial seat on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky.

At Dinsmore, Walker has practiced commercial litigation, with a focus on appellate law. In his role as assistant professor at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, he has conducted research in the areas of separation of powers, national security, and federal courts.

Previously, Walker clerked for Justice Anthony Kennedy on the U.S. Supreme Court and for Justice Brett Kavanaugh on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. In 2011, he was named toForbes’“30 Under 30” list for law and public policy. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and received a B.A. in political science from Duke University.

“Justin is eminently qualified, and he brings extensive experience to the bench, not just as a litigator but also as a legal scholar,” said Dinsmore Chairman and Managing Partner George Vincent. “He is an excellent choice to serve Kentucky’s Western District.”
