100 Plus Days of President Biden's Administration -- The Landscape for Employers is Changing

Beginning with the first day of the new administration, the employment law world took on a new life with 17 new executive orders being signed. Though not all affect labor and employment, those that do may have an immediate profound impact on employers and it is anticipated that there will be many more in the future. Moreover, as newly appointed officials assume their roles, new agendas are being pursued.

In this context, staying current in the employment arena is a critical role of human resources, now more so than ever. On the horizon are anticipated initiatives by the Department of Labor – particularly within the Wage and Hour Division, the OFCCP and OSHA , as well as by the EEOC and the NLRB. Though these new leaders may not have new laws to enforce in the near term, they have the authority to propose new regulations and guide the methods of enforcement for their respective agencies. Overtime issues, unionization and pay equity initiatives are also moving to the forefront.

If the past is an indicator, the shifts in rules and enforcement techniques will likely create more work for employers and not be favorable to employers. During this session, we will discuss these shifts that have either already been put into place or are on the horizon.

To best facilitate the content of our program, we ask attendees to submit questions in advance.
