Profile
Cynde H. Munzer is a member in Dykema's Chicago office and represents clients in business and transactional matters. Over the course of her legal career, she has served as a trusted advisor to many of the area's major publicly-held corporation and financial institutions. Her clients also include middle market businesses, newly emerging and smaller corporations as well.
Cynde has been working nearly 24/7 during the pandemic, advising her clients in response to some of the unique issues and challenges they and their customers and clients face. Her work includes strategizing with banking and other business executives to quickly craft custom and innovative solutions to address some of the unique issues arising during this time. Through her work, she has helped her clients improve operational efficiency through these challenging times.
Cynde has led and managed a Dykema team in representing bankers in the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of numerous general partner loan program facilities and custom related credit facilities for top tier private equity firms around the nation. These general partner loan programs allow the limited partners to co-invest in the funds. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this work increased given the need for additional flexibility in financial support.
In addition to her work with financial institutions, Cynde has a wealth of experience representing businesses in a broad range of matters, including asset and stock acquisitions and dispositions, mergers, joint development agreements, master services agreements, license agreements, real estate leases and other real estate matters, distributorship agreements, employment contracts, independent contractor agreements, and non-compete and confidentiality agreements. In addition, she has represented some of Chicago's leading financial institutions in the negotiation and preparation of documentation for complex asset-based financing transactions. Cynde has also presented seminars on topics of interest to emerging businesses, such as succession planning, stock option and phantom stock agreements, employment agreements, confidentiality and non-compete provisions and leasing matters.
Prior to entering private practice, she served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Robert Chapman Buckley, Justice of the Illinois Appellate Court. Before practicing law, she worked as a broadcast journalist.
Through her dedication and efforts to numerous professional and civic organizations over the years, Cynde has established herself as a recognized and respected leader in the Chicago area women's business community. Also, among her professional accolades, Cynde has been repeatedly recognized as a Leading Lawyer by Leading Lawyers Network, a designation awarded to less than 5% of Illinois attorneys.
