Ali concentrates his practice in the areas of health and welfare plans, qualified retirement plans, and executive compensation.

He advises clients on a range of compensation and benefits matters, along with related issues of tax, accounting, securities, and corporate governance.

Relevant Experience

  • Advises clients with respect to the design, drafting, and operation of defined benefit plans, 401(k) plans, and other tax-qualified and non-tax qualified retirement plans.
  • Advises clients with respect to employee benefits issues arising in corporate mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations, including compliance with Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Sections 83, 162(m), 409A, and 280G.
  • Perform buy and sell-side due diligence with respect to compensation and benefit issues for corporate mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions.
  • Assists clients with welfare benefit plan compliance and operational issues.
  • Advises clients on compliance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
