Profile

Brian Mashimbyi is an Associate at ENS in the Mine and Occupational Health & Safety practice.

His experience includes conducting due diligence investigations relating to occupational health and safety matters. He assists with the preparation of clients in the mining industry, following the occurrence of fatal accidents, and the representation of such clients at formal inquiry proceedings conducted in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act, 1996 ("MHSA").

In addition, Brian conducts legal research and assists with furnishing legal opinions on legislative requirements in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 ("OHASA") and the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, 1993 ("COIDA").

Brian has also assisted in the preparation of appeal applications in terms of section 35 of the OHASA and the furnishing of legal opinion on legislative requirements in terms of the Explosives Act, 1956 ("Explosives Act").

Brian is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society.
