Profile
Ms. Schiavo works as a litigation paralegal focusing on class actions and other complex civil litigation, including discovery, other pretrial proceedings, trial, and appeals.
Prior to her position with Hunton & Williams, Ms. Schiavo worked as a litigation paralegal for two large Washington, DC law firms for 24 years. In addition to the areas referenced above, she also has experience in bankruptcy, employment litigation, energy litigation, patent litigation, and accountant malpractice litigation.
Relevant Experience
- Lead paralegal in several wage and hour class action trials in federal courts in Alabama, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee.
- Assist counsel with representation of major meat processor in Fair Labor Standard Act collective actions and parallel state-law class actions in multiple federal jurisdictions.
- Experienced in all aspects of case management, including discovery, briefing, trial preparation, and trial, as well as the uses of various legal technology.
- Drafting documents associated with litigation, including motions, statements of fact, discovery requests and responses, and declarations.
- Assisted counsel with the representation of a major restaurant chain in labor cases involving wage-hour rights of employees.
- Assisted counsel with the representation of 341 limited partnerships that filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
