Profile

Inayah is an Associate within the Financial Services team at Shoosmiths, based in our Birmingham office.   

Inayah's work spans across regulated and unregulated asset finance. She has a particular focus on wholesale and retail finance and consumer credit, with particular expertise in motor finance. Inayah regularly advises clients on a number of topics under the umbrella of FCA compliance. 

Examples of Inayah's experience includes:

  • advising on the status of credit, lease and hire products (regulated, unregulated or exempt);
  • assisting large asset finance houses with their business-to-business asset finance security transactions and stocking/wholesale finance documentation suites;  
  • assisting clients with the implementation of introducer/broker and agency funding models;
  • sharing industry know-how by way of panel/forum discussion and regular written insights;
  • work relating to financial promotions and general advertising compliance, with a focus on motor finance; 
  • advising on the compliance of online motor finance distribution models; 
  • drafting and reviewing credit agreements (loan, hire purchase, personal contract purchase and conditional sale) and associated documentation; and
  • advising on compliance projects, including consumer duty implementation and FCA enforcement action. 

In November 2023, Inayah was listed on the 30 under 30 index by the Leasing Foundation, which recognises the top 30 individuals under the age of 30 in Asset Finance: The Leasing Foundation reveals the 2023 30 under 30 rising stars in asset finance - The Leasing Foundation

Further, in the summer of 2023, Inayah was shortlisted as a finalist for the Rising Star Award with Asset Finance Connect. 

Inayah also sits on the committee for our Embrace Network, which focuses on celebrating and encouraging diversity within the Shoosmiths community to help foster an inclusive and diverse culture.  

Inayah completed her training contract at Shoosmiths, qualifying in September 2021. Prior to commencing her training contract, Inayah was a paralegal within our Financial Services and Commercial team.
