Profile
Janardhan Shetty is a Senior Partner in the Dubai office. In a rich and diversified professional experience spanning over 22 years in the UAE, Janardhan has advised numerous clients in the areas of general corporate, commercial laws, M&A and transactional matters, litigation & dispute resolution as well as employment law matters.
Prior to joining the Firm, Janardhan was the co-founder of a Dubai based legal consultancy firm and led its Corporate & Commercial practice for over 17 years. His previous stint also includes having worked in one of the leading national law firms in the UAE. Before moving to the UAE, Janardhan practiced litigation in the Bombay High Court for over 5 years.
Janardhan regularly advises multinational companies, leading business groups and companies in the middle-east operating in such diverse sectors as retail, FMCG distribution, steel, healthcare, engineering, hotels, travel companies, pharmaceuticals, etc. concerning their legal matters in the UAE and in foreign jurisdictions.
His extensive transactional experience includes facilitating high-stake cross-border deals involving multiple jurisdictions. Janardhan also routinely advises clients on corporate, commercial and governance issues, shareholder disputes, debt recoveries and employment law matters including formulating related agreements and handling complaints and disputes in the Courts.
In his diverse litigation practice which includes commercial, corporate and civil litigation, Janardhan has successfully pursued or defended large claims before the UAE courts including obtaining favorable verdicts for his clients.
Janardhan also has experience in handling intellectual property related work and related litigation, in the UAE and the other GCC countries.
