Profile

John Hargrove is a partner in Bradley’s Birmingham office. He is a Fellow in the American College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and the American Bar Foundation. John also is listed in Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America®, Mid-South Super Lawyers, and was recognized in the Birmingham Business Journal’s “Best of the Bar” for 2023. He served as chair of Bradley's Labor and Employment Practice Group for over 15 years. John currently is the chair of the Eleventh Circuit Credentials Committee for the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

His labor practice extends to almost every area of employer-employee regulation. John has broad trial experience in both federal and Alabama state courts, handling primarily labor matters, as well as a wide variety of other interesting cases. He regularly handles union campaign issues, labor contract negotiations, noncompete cases, employment contract disputes, layoff issues, employment discrimination cases, and drug testing matters. He also has handled many workplace disaster and injury cases.

John regularly represents public and private companies in manufacturing, construction, mining, medical, communications, and warehousing industries, among others. John also has represented several nonprofit agencies, ranging from national sports organizations to small local charities.

John’s labor practice extends to almost every area of employer-employee regulation. He has broad trial experience in both federal and Alabama state courts, handling primarily labor matters but a wide variety of other interesting cases as well. He regularly handles union campaign issues, labor contract negotiations, employment discrimination cases, employment contract disputes, layoff issues, and drug testing matters. In the construction area, he handles cases in federal, state, and arbitral forums, both inside and outside of Alabama, and he advises owners and contractors with respect to various contract negotiation and dispute resolution issues.
