Marissa Marxen Giacomelli is located in the Firm’s San Diego office and is a member of the Litigation Practice Group.

Prior to joining Buchalter, Ms. Giacomelli worked as an associate at a plaintiffs’ class action firm in San Diego, where she practiced employment, class action, and real estate litigation.  Subsequently, Ms. Giacomelli worked at a San Diego insurance defense firm for approximately two (2) years, where she handled personal injury, construction defect, labor and employment, and business litigation cases.

From 2017 to 2020, Ms. Giacomelli managed her own law practice, while also working as outside counsel for Petersen-Dean, Inc.  During that time period, Ms. Giacomelli first-chaired two trials, including a two-week jury trial, in which she secured a verdict and entry of judgment in her clients’ favor.

From September 2020 through June 2022, Ms. Giacomelli worked as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Hon. Roger T. Benitez and Hon. Linda Lopez of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.  Her experience clerking along with her experience during law school as a Judicial Extern for the Hon. Gonzalo P. Curiel provides her with an intimate understanding of the federal judicial system.

Ms. Giacomelli prides herself on providing clients with an aggressive and ethical prosecution and/or defense of a case.
