Nicholas' practice as a partner was a combined finance and corporate practice. He has acted for international banks and other financial institutions on £billions in value of Jersey property finance transactions (SPVs, unit trusts and limited partnerships) and related securitisations, and undertaken other complex structured finance and equity derivative work.

Within a wide-ranging corporate practice, including demanding acquisitions, he acted on the AIM listings of Nature Group plc, Camco Clean Energy plc, EAG Limited, China Eastsea Business Software Limited and Bellzone Mining plc, and has done subsequent important work. He acted for former AIM-listed Rambler Media Limited on the scheme of arrangement by which the minority interest was acquired.

His corporate practice extended into restructuring and insolvency.

Now, as a consultant, he combines contributing to others' transactions with work on knowhow and precedents (including document automation), and representing the firm on reviews of legislation.
