Profile
Robert Dobbyn is a partner in Carey Olsen's trusts and private wealth group in Jersey.
Robert is an expert in private client structuring under Jersey law. In particular, he advises on the establishment and ongoing administration of Jersey law trusts, foundations and complex private trust company arrangements. He also assists his colleagues in other teams with transactional corporate or finance work from a trusts perspective, and with semi-contentious or contentious trust matters. His clients include settlors and beneficiaries around the world as well as their trustees and onshore advisers, especially those based in London, Switzerland and the Middle East.
He has been ranked in the Chambers and Partners HNW, Global, Europe and UK guides for Trusts in Jersey for many years running and also in the Legal 500 Private Client, Trusts and Tax guides for Jersey. In addition, he contributes regularly to industry journals and publications dealing with matters concerning Jersey trusts, foundations and succession law.

Professional Career
Robert started his legal career at Withers LLP in London, where he trained and qualified as an English private client solicitor. He moved to Jersey in 2011, spending five years in Ogier's trusts practice and then moving to Walkers where he established and headed up its trusts and private capital offering in Jersey.
Robert is a Jersey advocate and non-practising English solicitor. He is a member of the main committee and technical sub-committee of STEP's Jersey Branch and sits on the government trusts law and foundations law working parties.
