Profile

Sarah’s practice focuses on labor and employment litigation in federal and state courts and advice to business management on a full range of employment issues.

Sarah defends employers in claims alleging race discrimination, sex discrimination, sexual harassment, age discrimination, disability discrimination, failure to accommodate, and other forms of employment discrimination under federal and state law. She has extensive experience in both single-plaintiff discrimination claims and class actions. Sarah’s complex litigation experience further includes defending employers in wage and hour collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act, as well as class claims under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Sarah also handles a variety of traditional labor issues, including advising employers regarding organizing campaigns and elections, collective bargaining, unfair labor practice issues, and grievance arbitrations. She has significant experience advising employers targeted by labor unions in aggressive Corporate Campaigns and in developing comprehensive, strategic defenses to such campaigns, including through pursuit of civil RICO actions and other litigation-based responses.

In addition to her litigation responsibilities, Sarah provides day-to-day advice to employers on a variety of employment issues, including HR policies, litigation avoidance, employment agreements, restrictive covenants, wage and hour issues, privacy issues and use of social media, discrimination and harassment issues, and disability accommodation issues - including issues simultaneously implicating the ADA, the FMLA, and state workers’ compensation laws.

After earning her law degree from the University of Virginia, Sarah served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Marvin H. Shoob, United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. She has practiced in the labor and employment fields ever since.
