Profile

Sardia joined the firm in August of 2010. She is currently the Managing Associate in the Litigation Department, where she provides general management oversight and support in relation to the firm's contentious work. She has extensive experience and success in the High Court of Saint Lucia and the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal.

Sardia also has considerable experience as a member of the firm's Corporate/Commercial Practice Group. Her corporate/commercial practice covers banking law, commercial law, property law, employment law and conveyancing. She has also worked with other team members on several mergers and acquisitions and on complex cross-border financing transactions. She routinely advises clients on real estate condominium law and insolvency matters. Noteworthy, is Sardia's recent engagement to act as receiver-manager on behalf of a local financial institution.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Wolverhampton in England, with First Class Honours and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) (Environmental Law), which she earned, with Distinction, from City University.

Sardia volunteers as the Managing Editor of the Publications Committee of the Bar Association of Saint Lucia and is a contributor to the Bar Association's magazine, "The Brief". Her most recent publication, "Second Hand or Bad Hand", discusses the risks associated with the purchase of second hand vehicles which may be subject to a bill of sale and commends the move towards a modern registry system for movables.

Prior to joining the firm, Sardia was employed as a Legal Research Officer on an international and environmental law project at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London and as a Judicial Research Assistant to the Chief Justice and Justices of Appeal at the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court Headquarters in Saint Lucia.
