Profile
Silvia Araujo brings more than fifteen years of experience in labor matters and labor litigation to Brazilian and international clients. She assists human resources professionals/executives with complex employment issues, such as implementation of compensation and benefits policies, including stock options, bonuses and profit sharing. Ms. Araujo also provides counsel on transfer of employees to other countries and special employment circumstances, including confidentiality agreements and non-compete obligations, especially with IT industries.
Ms. Araujo also has experience assisting clients with the labor aspects of corporate transactions, including M&A due diligence, union negotiations and compliance investigations, including investigations as preparation for a termination of an employment agreement with cause.
Litigation experience for Ms. Araujo includes defending employers before the Labor Court and other civil authorities such as the Ministry of Labor and the Public Attorney's Office where she has argued cases involving complicated labor issues, class actions and investigation processes.
Ms. Araujo is an active member of Ius Laboris, an international of leading Human Resources law practitioners, with more than 2,500 lawyers providing local labor knowledge and coverage in more than 100 countries.
