Overview

Founded in 1924, Jeantet is the second longest-established independent French business law firm still active on the French market. All the firm’s practices are recognized in the main national and international rankings, thus ensuring stability for its clients for decades, and positioning it as a leading full-service firm for the entire sector. The firm’s reputation extends far beyond national borders, with operations in over 150 jurisdictions worldwide.

For decades, the firm has been at the forefront of the legal scene, built around a dynamic and ambitious management team. Jeantet attracts talent, as evidenced by the increase in the number of partners from 26 to 35 between January 2019 and January 2023, and the rise in the number of associates and support teams to over 200 experts today. These recruitments testify to the firm’s ever-growing momentum and are in line with Jeantet’s growth strategy and its desire to expand its offering to meet increasing customer demand.

The firm has several teams dedicated to improving its ESG approach. A group has been set up to deal with environmental issues (the first carbon footprint was completed in 2022), and a legal delegation works alongside the lawyers on a daily basis to improve their working conditions and listen to their concerns on a wide range of subjects: salaries, vacations, paternity leave, etc.

In 2024, Jeantet will be celebrating 100 years of enlightened vision. Drawing from the strength of their history, our teams are resolutely future-oriented, continuing and accelerating our dynamic of development, innovation and providing the very best services to our customers. Jeantet is the business partner of its customers and peers. The partners are also committed to providing the best working environment for their teams, to support both their professional development and their personal fulfillment.

Don’t close, sell Closures of French industrial sites regularly make the news, across all sectors. To mention just a few of the most emblematic ones: Bridgestone’s Béthune site (tires, 2021, almost 900 employees), Whirlpool’s Amiens factory (tumble driers, 2017, around 280 employees), and last but not least, Arcelor Mittal’s Florange factory (steel, 2012, around 630 employees), which served as namesake to a French law obliging groups wanting to close a production site to search a buyer in order to sell the site (Law Nr. 2014-384 of 29 March 2014, “loi Florange”)...
